If the scientists continue like this, humanity will die of hunger amidst abundant food. Arthur Hermes
Cancer is probably more feared than any other condition . Attempts by science to find a cure have produced some results , but the progress has not taken the fear away. Until recently, there has not been enough opportunity to verify the usefulness of essential oils in connection with cancer treatments. However, the erstwhile suspicion that essential oils are of help has now been confirmed.
Despite no one in corporate pharmacology paying attention, highly significant academic research in the 1990s focused on the antitumor activity of terpenoid essential oil components. Perillyl alcohol, a terpene alcohol closely related to limonene, was tested in clinical trials for its efficacy against mammary cancer. A key patent claiming cancer treatments with terpenoids is in the possession of the United states.
PIA conducted a symposium " Essential oils and Cancer" in the year 2000, where Charles Elson and Dennis Peffley , two of the most important contributors to the NIH sponsored research, presented their results. The most immediately applicable result of their work was that a diet rich in mixed and varied terpenoids , that is, a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, verifiably lowered cancer risk. Equally interesting was that this dietary approach was the only factor that, over the years, truly reduced cancer risk. Other measures advocated by the supplement industry such as extra intake of Vitamin E or carotene, were recognized as ineffective. ,
